PRODUCT LINES

 

Pressure Housings   Specialized containment tubes used to protect electronic instrumentation packages lowered into deep oil wells. The bottom pressure of these deep oil wells may reach 25,000 psi [1700 bar].

Dewar Flasks   Special heat insulating tubes (also called "heatshields" and "thermoshields"), used to protect electronic instrumentation packages from the high temperature encountered at the bottom of deep oil wells (similar in application as your coffee "thermos"). These thin wall flasks are slipped over the electronic instrumentation, and then inserted inside a Pressure Housing. The bottom temperature of deep oil wells may reach 480degF [250degC], while geothermal wells may reach close to 800degF [425degC].

Thermohousings   These are Pressure Housings which have been integrated with Dewar Flasks, resulting in a Pressure Housing which protects the electronic instrumentation packages from the 25,000 psi, and simultaneously, from the 800degF . The advantage of this integration is a larger payload and a higher shock load rating. Many of these are built for through-tubing operation, and although they are slender, they are very rugged. Typical users of this equipment are oilfield service companies such as Schlumberger in the art of electric logging, Scientific Drilling in the art of directional surveying, and GERD in the art of Geothermal Research. Several models have evolved into dedicated applications, like the ones for Humphrey's SRG gyros.
